Blum is an educational program dedicated to developing the play competence of adults who work with children. Our goal is to help early childhood educators and parents reconnect with children’s worlds of play with confidence, creativity, and presence.

The story of Blum began in 2004, when Márta Bácskai and her family founded the “Think Healthy!” Foundation. The initial aim was to bring greater attention to children’s physical and emotional well-being within early childhood education.

At first, the program focused on nutrition, movement, and the presence of artistic activities in kindergarten life. Soon, however, it became clear that one of the most important factors in children’s development lies in the presence of the adults around them—specifically, in whether adults are able to be freely and creatively present in the child’s world of play.

From this recognition, Blum gradually began to focus on developing adults’ play competence. This perspective led to the concept of the Master Player and the practice of the Artistic Play Space, where storytelling, movement, music, and dramatic play come together to connect children and adults in a shared creative environment.

Blum operates as a nonprofit organization, and since 2013 Márta Bácskai has been a member of the international Ashoka network as a social innovator.

Today, Blum’s trainings and projects support educators, parents, and professionals in rediscovering play as a shared language of connection.

Every child deserves a Master Player.

Even a small contribution can make a real difference.
